The US Ambassador, Alexander Arvizu, invited at the “Youth Education and Employment” conference, organized by the Forum of Socialist Youth, “FRESSH”, reiterated that free and fair elections return the youth’s trust to politicians.
“Youth is a component of democratic elections. We have seen young people left behind by politics, but clever political leaders must take youth in consideration”, Arvizu declared, quoting the speech of the US State Secretary, Hillary Clinton:
“During her visit in Albania, Hillary Clinton asked the Albanian politics to guarantee free and fair elections. The Albanian people need to trust the results. She added that democracy insinuates not only fair elections, but also transparent institutions and independent press”, the US Ambassador declared.
Arvizu added: “Civil society is a main component of democratic elections. Its inclusion will guarantee that the people’s voice will be heard. Albania’s democracy will be stronger if the civil society will commit more”.
